Magician dragon shifter Lorenzo is dismayed when he has his firestorm, which means his destined mate is in the audience. He is nearing his last show and plans on disappearing and starting a new life. He can't resist her though. Cassie Redmond is something he hadn't counted on. He just plans on satisfying himself and then moving on. But Cassie doesn't allow him that option.
When slayers target Cassie he finds that he can't leave her behind.
Can Lorenzo save Cassie and start a new life? or will all of his plans fall through?
Flashfire was one of the Pyr series I had trouble with. The plot was pretty holey and it jumped around too much. I wasn’t able to follow it very well, plus the side trips with Thorolf took it off course. But I do want Thorolf to get his own book. I enjoyed the earlier Pyr books a lot, but this one it didn't catch my attention because of the plot. Others who like The Pyr series though might enjoy it more than I did. Overall, this one wasn’t my cup of tea, but I’m looking forward to more in this series.
He’s lost all hope…until she changes everything.

Instead of forcing him to reveal his secrets, Cassie gets swept away by this illusionist’s masterful touch.
Lorenzo wants to satisfy the firestorm and put it behind him. But Cassie is hard to forget—and he can’t ignore the danger when Slayers target the mate Lorenzo didn’t believe he wanted…
